Service

'Let your every creature serve you; for you spoke and they were made, you sent forth your spirit, and they were created; no one can resist your word"  -Judith 16:14

An integral part of formation in Old College is striving to always live a life of service for others.  Each one of us is called to use our talents and gifts to help others, but those in the ordained religious life are especially called to be selfless.

The men of Old College use their talents and give of their time to help others in a variety of different ways.  Among other things, the first year men often lend a helping hand to Holy Cross House, the care facility for retired religious. Second year men most commonly branch out to help the larger community by teaching religious education at local parishes, or helping at various social service organizations around the South Bend area

Beyond each man's specific act of service, or apostolate, he is invited to help with any activity on campus that may peak his interest.  Men have worked in such things as Campus Ministry, Right to Life, Knights of Columbus, and many others.
